I Started my Blog Because…
I was unhappy with my current living situation and I wanted to take a different path for mine and my husband’s future. Living Paycheck to Paycheck my entire life, I decided enough was enough. I had read from other blogger
Why you start your own blog will be for your own reasons. If you just feel the need to write, then write. If you want to help others learn something, then teach them. There is no limit to what you can do with your own personal blog.
Since I started blogging, I have been following several bloggers that have inspired me to continue on this journey. I find that it is very rewarding, personally, to get all of my thoughts out where I can see them and share them with others. I am also learning how to become an affiliate for companies and how to make my blog look more professional.
Here are a few of my favorite Blogs:
- Heath Padgett blogs about RV Living & Unconventional Career Tips
- Michelle Schroeder-Gardener blogs about Finance and Blogging
- Sgt. Cooley blogs about Preparedness in our Uncertain World
- Ingrid and Al share their journeys with us
- Marie & Josh are Digital Nomads romping around the USA
- Bob Wells talks about Vandwelling and Cheap RV Living
You can find your favorite RV Living Blog HERE.
I love to read about what everyone is doing while they are traveling and I also love to see how they have their blogs set up. Each one is different and unique and each writer has his/her own personality that they portray throughout the blog. These are my sources for inspiration daily, and I want to share them with you so that you may have inspiration as well.
Blogging really is relatively easy once you know what you want to share with others.
First, you must pick a domain name. You want to pick a name that is unique and describes what you want to portray in your blog. Then you must register that name. GoDaddy.com has over 36 million domain names under them. They have, in total about 30% of the market’s total share.
Next, you will need a Web Host. The Web host stores all the pages of your website and makes them available to computers connected to the Internet. You must have a web host in order to have a successful blog.
You can start a WordPress blog for free. WordPress is the most popular blog platform in the world, and with good reason. If you need help setting up your blog, you can go to WordPress Support to find a variety of resources to help you get the most out of WordPress. There are many free Themes that you can choose from and later you can upgrade to a Premium Theme.
“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with the big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts.”
There are many resources online that will also help you as you begin to set up your blog. MakingSenseofCents has great articles on how to start your blog. Blogstarter is another great resource you should check out if you are interested. The online blogging community is always here to answer any questions you have along the way. They are great about responding to your comments when you leave one and doing so in a timely manner.
So, get out there (or should I say “in here”) and do it. There is a world of ideas in your mind that someone else would love to hear and share with you. The best part of blogging to me is that it is a hobby that can be done 24 hours a day! The Internet never closes! And it is always happy to see you.
If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear them. Just leave a reply below!
